Brigg first grew as a crossing point on the river Ancholme, taking its name from the bridge constructed to make east to west journeys easier. Brigg has a colourful history of markets and fairs and today is a thriving market town.
Arties Mill is located a mile away from the centre of Brigg and is a charming old wind mill originally built in 1790. The joining grain sheds & Mill interior have been sympathetically converted into bars, restaurants and function rooms, providing a pleasant and friendly atmosphere while retaining many of its interesting features of its history. Just a few yards from the Mill, set in attractive landscaped gardens is the lodge, housing a choice of bedrooms.
There are a number of popular attractions within easy access, which amongst others include Elsham Hall Country and Wildlife Park, Normanby Hall and the historic ruins of Thornton Abbey, Newstead priory is nearby and For golfing enthusiasts Brigg boasts six gold courses within a ten minute drive. Arties Mill has a reputation for good food and offers a choice of extensive bar menu available in the lounge, bar and on Sundays a carvery. For a meeting, wedding, party or private dining Arties Mill is an ideal location.
Arties Mill has 26 bedrooms, two non en-suite, 5 meeting rooms accommodating from 10 to 100 delegates, weddings and parties seating up to 130 guests.
